About this course

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Understand how frontend and backend technologies communicate with each other
• Define the overall backend development approaches and highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each approach
• Apply the database technologies and templates (Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) & Cascading Style Sheets (CSS))
• Understand both the theoretical and practical knowledge of the backend technology adopted in the course. With this experience, learners should be able to pick up other backend technology on their own next time.

What you'll learn

Every modern web application is powered by both frontend and backend technologies. The backend technology ensures that data can be persisted, and services can be consumed over a network. This course will provide an overview of how frontend technologies communicate with backend technologies. Participants will be taught about backend architectures and how communication at the backend works. As there are different ways of performing backend development but to ensure that participants are properly equipped with the skillsets required of backend developers, this course will specifically focus on backend development that does not involve Application Programming Interface (API) development (the knowledge of API development will be covered in another complementary course). Through a hands-on and interactive learning approach, participants will delve into all the essential skills required of a backend developer. This course will also provide the theoretical knowledge of why backend systems are developed in a certain manner so that they can eventually create robust and scalable applications.

Minimum of a Diploma and has knowledge in HTML and CSS
