This training provides fundamental applicable skills in using the Adobe Illustrator (AI) software, concentrated in the area of fashion design and presentation. Learners will be trained to use AI tools and palette to render fashion sketches and illustration for design and technical presentations. The training also provides an introduction to the use and application of the Adobe Photoshop software, focusing on skills to enhance fashion design and presentation. This training will equip learners with the basic skill set to use AI and be a stepping stone for them to expand their skills further for more advance fashion illustrations in future. As AI is the most commonly used design software in the Textile & Apparel Industry worldwide, used by apparel manufacturers, print & embroidery mills and graphic production companies, this course is specifically tailored for learners to integrate CAD as an effective and productive solution for improved communications in the Textile & Apparel industry. Learners will identify the numerous benefits of using CAD and any possible shortcomings, they will learn how to use AI to render garment designs and technical sketch, they will learn basic Photoshop skills, and they will be familiar with the various electronic file types, their properties and effective digital transmission. Learners will be able to create vector-based flat drawings, do basic image editing, use selected effects and create presentation layouts using selected CAD software. They will also learn to create their own trims library for enhanced and long-term effectiveness.

Singapore/PR Students:
• Aged 16 years and above AND
• Possess at least 3 GCE 'N' Level credits including English and Mathematics OR
• ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 and above
International Students:
• Aged 16 years and above AND
• High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Levels with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics AND
• IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 32
ALL Students are required to have basic computing skills - i.e. able to turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engines for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.
